2-Phenoxynaphthalene-1,4-dione (2PN) is a congener of the antitumor agent phenoxodiol. It has been shown to inhibit glyceraldehyde-3-phosphate dehydrogenase and to have potential as an antitumor drug. 2PN has been expressed in mammalian cells and validated for cytotoxicity. The inhibition mechanism of 2PN is not yet fully understood, but it has been shown to be cytotoxic against cancer cells and leishmania parasites.
