Product Information
Ethyl 1-methyl-1H-indazole-3-carboxylate is a synthetic compound that has anti-cancer and anti-proliferative activity. It is an oxadiazole derivative that inhibits the growth of cancer cells by interfering with DNA synthesis at the G2/M cell cycle stage. Ethyl 1-methyl-1H-indazole-3-carboxylate inhibits the proliferation of cancer cells in culture, as well as in vivo, by induction of apoptosis. The anti-cancer effect is selective to hepatocellular carcinoma cells and not observed in other human tumour cell lines, such as colon cancer cells or melanoma cells. This agent also displays strong binding to indazole, which may be due to its ability to inhibit indazole dehydrogenase and thereby reduce the production of indazoles.
