Product Information
BMS-646786 is a potent and selective inhibitor of the ubiquitin ligase, FKBP12. This compound has been shown to inhibit the human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) protease in vitro and in animal models. BMS-646786 also inhibits hepatitis B virus (HBV) and hepatitis C virus (HCV) proteases. The mode of action of this compound is not yet known, but it may inhibit protein synthesis by blocking the polymerase chain reaction or by binding to p2y receptors on cells. This agent binds to agarose gels at low pH and hydrochloric acid, which suggests that its target may be a hydrophilic protein.
