Product Information
Elvitegravir is an acyl glucuronide that is the major active metabolite of elvitegravir. Elvitegravir is a non-nucleoside reverse transcriptase inhibitor that prevents HIV from replicating by blocking the enzyme reverse transcriptase. Elvitegravir acyl glucuronide has been shown to inhibit ion channels, receptor-ligand interactions, and protein interactions, which may be due to its ability to act as an agonist or antagonist at ion channel receptors. This drug also binds to antibodies and peptides and has been shown to activate cells and inhibit cell growth in culture.
