2,5-Dimethyl-1-(4-methyl-pyridin-2-yl)-1H-pyrrole-3-carbaldehyde (DMPPCA) is a monomer that has been used in the production of polymers. It is a colorless liquid that has a boiling point of 107°C and can be reacted with chloride to form allyl chloride or vinyl chloride. DMPPCA is often used as an additive in polyvinylchloride (PVC) and acrylates in the production of polymers. DMPPCA polymerises readily in presence of an initiator and is soluble in many organic solvents.
