Glyceryl ascorbate is a molecule that contains two hydroxyl groups and one dehydroascorbic acid. It can be used in treatments to maintain healthy skin. Glyceryl ascorbate has been shown to inhibit the formation of sulfamic acid and sulfamate by liposomes, which can lead to the production of acidic ph. This molecule also has antioxidant effects. Glyceryl ascorbate stabilizes organic solvents and inhibits oxidation reactions caused by gold nanoparticles.
