Description:

Trichloro(1-trichlorosilyldecan-2-yl)silane is an organosilicon compound that is used as a catalyst in organic synthesis. Trichloro(1-trichlorosilyldecan-2-yl)silane can be prepared by the reaction of trichlorosilane with 1,1-dichlorodecanethiol at high pressure and temperature. It is also possible to prepare this compound by reacting silicon tetrachloride with 1,1,3,3-tetraisopropyldisiloxane. This product has been shown to be a very efficient catalyst for the hydrosilylation of alkenes and alkynes under mild conditions.
