Tetrahydro-11,13-dihydroxy-4-methyl-2H-3-benzoxacyclododecin-2,10(1H)-dione (THD) is a natural compound that inhibits the activity of protein kinases. It has been shown to inhibit the proliferation of lung fibroblasts and colon cancer cells in vitro. THD also inhibits inflammation in animal models by inhibiting the production of inflammatory cytokines such as IL-6 and TNFα. This compound has been isolated from a variety of natural sources including the leaves of Curcuma longa, an extract from Dianthus superbus, and an acetate extract from Acacia concinna.
