Description:
(1R,3S)-3-Hydroxycyclohexane-1-carboxylic acid is a natural product that has been isolated from the mutant strain of Collinus. It has been shown to inhibit the growth of actinomycetes and produce antibiotics with phosphatase activity. The type strain of (1R,3S)-3-hydroxycyclohexane-1-carboxylic acid has a pH optimum of 7.5, but it can grow at pH levels ranging from 5.0 to 9.0. The residue on the cyclohexane ring is an isotope of carbon 13.
