5-(Bromomethyl)-1,2,3-trimethoxybenzene is a novel anticancer drug that has been shown to have cytotoxic effects on cancer cells. It is an alkylating agent that can bind to DNA and form covalent bonds with nucleophilic groups such as hydroxyl, amino, imino, and thiol groups. 5-(Bromomethyl)-1,2,3-trimethoxybenzene inhibits the growth of hepg2 cells and has the potential to be used in the treatment of cancer. 5-(Bromomethyl)-1,2,3-trimethoxybenzene also has inhibitory properties against cancer cell proliferation by binding to receptors on the outer surface of cells.
