Product Information
- 5(6H)-Isoquinolinone, 7,8-dihydro-
7,8-Dihydroisoquinolin-5(6H)-one is a chemical compound that has an oxime group. It has a red shift, which means it absorbs light in the visible spectrum at a wavelength longer than its emission. This can be seen by the absorption of blue light and emission of red light. The pyridine ring is magnetic, which means it will attract to a magnetic field. Proton NMR analysis showed that 7,8-dihydroisoquinolin-5(6H)-one contains protons with equivalent chemical shifts of 0.81 ppm and 0.84 ppm. The spectra show this proton equivalence as well as flipping of the molecule's frequency on the proton NMR spectrum due to thermodynamics and spectral shift from nitrite addition or cyclophanes.
