Product Information
- Tetradeca-1,13-Diene
- Tetradecadiene
1,13-Tetradecadiene is an alkene that is a substrate for retinoid X receptor (RXR) and retinoic acid receptors (RARs). 1,13-Tetradecadiene has been shown to affect gene transcription by binding to the DNA-dependent RNA polymerase. The molecule was found to have a variety of effects on cell growth, including inhibition of insulin-like growth factor-i (IGF-I) induced cell proliferation. It also exhibits anti-inflammatory properties and may be used in the treatment of inflammatory diseases such as rheumatoid arthritis.
