Description:

DL-Cysteine hydrochloride monohydrate is a water-soluble amino acid that has been shown to have antioxidant properties. It is used as a model system for the study of chronic exposure to chemical substances, and for the treatment of diabetic neuropathy. DL-Cysteine hydrochloride monohydrate has been shown to be an effective treatment for diabetic patients with albumin concentration in the blood. It also protects against oxidative stress by scavenging reactive oxygen species and nitric oxide. This compound can also inhibit protease activity in rat striatal tissue, which may be due to its structural formula.
