Ethyl 2-(4-bromopyridin-2-yl)-2-cyanoacetate (EBPCA) is a novel chemical compound that has been shown to exhibit anti-cancer activity. It inhibits the production of IL-10, an anti-inflammatory cytokine, in vitro and in vivo. EBPCA also inhibits tumor growth in animal models by inhibiting angiogenesis, which is the formation of new blood vessels from pre-existing ones. EBPCA has been found to be non-toxic at concentrations up to 10 mM, making it a potential candidate for use as an anti-cancer drug.
