Product Information

Name:
4,6-Diaminonicotinamide
Synonyms:
  • 4,6-Diamino-3-pyridinecarboxamide
  • 3-Pyridinecarboxamide, 4,6-diamino-
Description:

4,6-Diaminonicotinamide is a potent inhibitor of the enzyme tyrosine kinase. It has been shown to inhibit the production of pro-inflammatory cytokines and chemokines in cells from autoimmune diseases. 4,6-Diaminonicotinamide has also been shown to inhibit the proliferation of hematopoietic cells and induce apoptosis in cancer cells with high sensitivity. The molecular modeling studies have demonstrated that 4,6-diaminonicotinamide binds to ATP binding sites on proteins and inhibits their kinase activity. This drug is selective for certain protein kinases, such as c-Src, but not other protein kinases such as p38 MAPK or PI3K/Akt.
