Product Information
- (R)-4-Phenyloxazolidine-2-Thione
- (4R)-4-phenyl-1,3-oxazolidine-2-thione
(R)-4-Phenyloxazolidine-2-thione is a chiral molecule with a monoclinic crystal structure. It has hydrogen bonding interactions with the benzene ring and is therefore soluble in organic solvents. (R)-4-Phenyloxazolidine-2-thione has been shown to form dimers in solution, which can be observed by spectroscopic techniques. The presence of hydrogen bonding interactions between the molecules causes an increase in the intensity of the diffraction peaks from (R)-4-Phenyloxazolidine-2-thione molecules, as well as shifting them towards shorter wavelengths. X-ray crystallography and vibrational spectroscopy have also revealed that (R)-4-Phenyloxazolidine-2-thione has two different conformations, one of which is more stable than the other. This difference in stability may be due to an intermolecular hydrogen bond
