KPT-276 is a potent inhibitor of the pro-apoptotic protein Survivin. It has been shown to inhibit tumor cell growth in vitro and in vivo. KPT-276 binds to survivin and prevents it from binding to the pro-apoptotic protein Bax, which is essential for apoptosis. KPT-276 also inhibits epidermal growth factor receptor signaling, which may contribute to its anti-tumor effects. KPT-276 has minimal toxicity in mice.
