Description:

NBD-CO-Hz is a fluorescent probe that is used to assay the concentration of carboxylic acids in aqueous solutions. It is synthesized by reacting 4-(N-hydrazinocarbonylmethyl-N-methylamino)-7-nitro-2,1,3-benzoxadiazole with pyridine and an azide reagent. It emits green light at 515 nm when excited with a wavelength of 355 nm. NBD-CO-Hz is chiral and reacts with carboxylic acids to form a fluorescent product that can be detected using high performance liquid chromatography (HPLC).
