Product Information
- 1-(Benzo[b]thiophen-4-yl)piperazine
1-Benzo[b]thien-4-yl-piperazine is a reactive, analog of serotonin. It has been shown to be expressed in rat liver microsomes and human liver incubated with 5-hydroxytryptophan. This compound has a profile that includes the following: 5-HT2A receptor agonist activity (Ki = 0.061 nM), 5-HT1A receptor antagonist activity (IC50 = 2.6 μM), dopamine releasing activity (EC50 = 3.0 μM), and inhibition of monoamine reuptake (Ki values >10 μM). 1BTP is also a congener of serotonin and is metabolized by conjugation with piperazine, followed by glucuronidation or sulfation.
