4-(3-Pyridin-2-yl-1H-pyrazol-4-yl)quinoline (4PQ) is a molecule that has been shown to have cell factor activity. It has been shown to increase the transcription of the polymerase chain reaction in human serum. 4PQ also binds to mesenchymal markers and receptor activity, which may be due to its ability to induce growth factor β1 expression in mesenchymal cells. 4PQ has been shown to stimulate the proliferation of stem cells and induce angiogenesis. The molecule has been shown to enhance the proliferation of hk-2 cells by stimulating collagen synthesis, skeletal elements, and angiogenic factors.
