Product Information
Bromonaphthalene is a reactive chemical compound that can undergo a variety of organic reactions. It undergoes nucleophilic substitution with an electron-deficient alkene, generating a chiral α-bromo ketone in the presence of an acid catalyst. Bromonaphthalene also undergoes enantioselective Suzuki coupling with an electron donor such as boronic acid, leading to the formation of both enantiomers of the desired product. The reaction is highly efficient and has been shown to have high quantum yields and asymmetric transfer from boronic acid to the electrophile. This process is catalyzed by palladium on carbon (Pd/C) and requires sodium hydrogen bromide (NaBr) as a base.
