2,8-Diazaspiro[4.5]decan-1-one is a molecule that has been shown in vitro to have antibacterial activity against gram-positive and gram-negative bacteria. It is a lipase inhibitor that binds to the active site of the enzyme, thereby inhibiting its activity. 2,8-Diazaspiro[4.5]decan-1-one has been shown to be synergistic with fluconazole for inhibiting growth of Candida albicans and Aspergillus flavus. This drug also has a pharmacokinetic profile that is suitable for chronic use and can be used as an antifungal agent.
