Product Information
4-Fluoro-2-azabicyclo[2.1.1]hexane-1-carboxylic acid is a fluorinated analogue of azabicyclo[3.2.1]octane, which is a cyclic compound with six carbon atoms and two nitrogen atoms in its ring system. It has an unusual skeleton that contains one carbon atom, one nitrogen atom, and four fluorine atoms. The photochemical reaction of 4-fluoro-2-azabicyclo[2.1.1]hexane-1-carboxylic acid occurs spontaneously when it absorbs light in the ultraviolet region of the electromagnetic spectrum at 290 nm to 320 nm and generates a reactive species that reacts with oxygen to form ozone and water vapor. This reaction has been shown to be useful for disinfecting surfaces and air in hospitals, food preparation areas, and veterinary clinics where there are high levels of bacteria or fungi on surfaces or in the air
