Description:
9-(1-Naphthyl)carbazole is a compound that has a linear structure and contains a benzene ring. It can be synthesized by the reaction of 9-bromoanthracene with lithium metal in an ethereal solution. When heated, it converts to the cyclic form. In addition, it reacts with benzene to produce the c1-3 alkyl derivative. The cyclic form can also be produced by heating 9-(1-naphthyl)carbazole in the presence of cyclopentadienyl palladium chloride and lithium chloride.
