Product Information
Clozapine is a neuroleptic drug that has been used in the treatment of schizophrenia. It is chemically classified as an indole, and it is not a typical antipsychotic. Clozapine binds to the d4 receptors in the brain, which are thought to be involved in psychosis and mood disorders. Clozapine also blocks serotonin at the 5-HT2A receptor, which may be responsible for its antipsychotic effects. Although clozapine is not a typical antipsychotic drug, it has been shown to have greater efficacy than other drugs in treating psychosis, including schizophrenia.
