Product Information
- 2-Thiophenecarboxylic Acid, 3-(Acetylamino)-, Methyl Ester
Methyl 3-acetamidothiophene-2-carboxylate is a PARP inhibitor. It is an inhibitor of the enzyme parp-1, which plays a key role in DNA repair and cell division. Methyl 3-acetamidothiophene-2-carboxylate has been evaluated in vitro and in vivo for its ability to inhibit the growth of cancer cells. This activity was shown to be selective for cancer cells, with little or no effect on normal cells. Methyl 3-acetamidothiophene-2-carboxylate has also been shown to have low toxicity and high bioavailability. The compound inhibits the proliferation of human breast cancer cells in vitro (IC50=0.3 µmol/L) and inhibits tumor growth in mice bearing human breast tumors transplanted subcutaneously (ED50=4 mg/kg).
