Azanide is a drug that belongs to the group of antihypertensive agents. It is a reconstituted form of an analytical standard. Azanide has been used as an implantable stabilizer in regimes for the treatment of hypertension, as well as in combination with gamma-aminobutyric acid and nitrofurantoin. It has also been used to treat psychostimulant dependence and epilepsy. Azanide can be synthesized by reacting fatty acids with hydroxyl groups and a nitro group. This synthesis produces azanides, which are active against spontaneous activity in rats.
