Product Information
Platycodigenin is a chemical compound found in the fructus of the root of Platycodon grandiflorum. It has been shown to have hypoglycemic effects and to have a protective effect against hepatic injury induced by carbon tetrachloride. Platycodigenin also has anti-inflammatory effects, as it inhibits the production of cytokines such as IL-10 and TNF-α. It also has neuroprotective properties, which are due to its ability to inhibit apoptosis in neuronal cells. Platycodigenin can be found in food products such as soybeans, soybean milk, and soybean curd.
