Nonadecylcyclohexane is a hydroxybenzoic acid that has been used as an analytical reagent for determining the presence of a hydroxy group. It has been shown to reversibly bind to immunodeficiencies in humans and animals, including HIV, hepatitis B virus and other viruses. Nonadecylcyclohexane is also an aromatic hydrocarbon with a particle diameter of about 10 nm. This compound also has health effects that can be determined using mass spectrometric detection.
