Product Information
- 2,3-Dichloro-5-Nitronaphthalene-1,4-Dione
2,3-Dichloro-5-nitro-1,4-naphthoquinone is a synthetic precursor to 1,4-dichloroanthraquinone. It has been used to synthesize various heterocycles and dyes. This compound undergoes thermodynamic reactions with amines and solvents that are nucleophilic. The reaction with glutathione gives 2,3-dichloro-5-(2′,3′-dihydroxybenzoyl)naphthalene 1,4-dioxide, which can be reduced by photoreduction to 2,3-dichloro-5-[2′-(2′′'-dihydroxyphenyl)benzoyl]naphthalene 1,4 dioxide.
