N-(Quinolin-6-yl)acetamide is a pesticide that is used in the form of its methochloride salt. It is an effective agent for the control of nematodes and leishmania. The mechanism of action of this pesticide has been shown to be due to inhibition of the formation of ATP by reacting with the electron transport chain at complex I (NADH:ubiquinone oxidoreductase). This product also has bactericidal activity against various bacteria, including Leishmania, and can be used as a tobacco additive. N-(Quinolin-6-yl)acetamide can be degraded by oxygenated solutes such as amines, which may result in residues on plants and food crops.
