2-Bromobenzene-1,3-dicarboxylic acid is a carboxylic acid that belongs to the class of aromatic hydrocarbons. It is used in the synthesis of biphenyls and has been found to be an inhibitor of serine proteases. 2-Bromobenzene-1,3-dicarboxylic acid has been shown to be a substrate for oxytocin receptors with hydrogen bonding interactions. This compound also has antireflection properties and can be functionalized by conjugation with other molecules containing functional groups (e.g., biphenyl). 2-Bromobenzene-1,3-dicarboxylic acid can also react with palladium complexes to form aryl chlorides.
