Description:
6-Bromonicotinaldehyde is a natural product that has been shown to have fungicidal and insecticidal properties. This compound has been shown to be a potent inhibitor of the growth of pathogenic fungi such as Botrytis cinerea, Rhizoctonia solani, and Fusarium oxysporum. 6-Bromonicotinaldehyde was also found to be an effective herbicide against plant pathogenic fungi including Colletotrichum coccodes and Alternaria solani. 6-Bromonicotinaldehyde is an analog of nicotinic acid and is chemically related to the alkaloid nicotine.
