Product Information
- Benzoic acid, 4-bromo-2,6-dinitro-, methyl ester
Methyl 4-bromo-2,6-dinitrobenzoate is a chemical that belongs to the group of sulfonyl chlorides. It is an aromatic compound with a dihedral angle of 180°. The methyl group attached to the ring at position 2 (C2) and the nitro group attached at position 6 (C6) are rotated by 45°. This rotation is due to steric hindrance caused by the presence of the chlorine atom at C1. The methyl group on C4 is rotated by 90° because it does not have any adjacent atoms. Methyl 4-bromo-2,6-dinitrobenzoate has shown anti-inflammatory properties in studies involving rats.
