(2R)-2-((6-O-beta-D-glucopyranosyl-beta-D-glucopyranosyl)oxy)-2-methylbutanenitrile is a fatty acid that is found in the plant family of Fabaceae. It has been shown to have an inhibitory effect on the activity of enzymes that are involved in fatty acid synthesis, such as fatty acid synthase and acetyl coA carboxylase. (2R)-2-((6-O-beta-D-glucopyranosyl-beta-D-glucopyranosyl)oxy)-2-methylbutanenitrile also inhibits the growth of cancer cells by inducing cell cycle arrest. This compound has been shown to be an inhibitor of matrix metalloproteinases, which are important in the development of cancer.
