Product Information

Name:
11-Hydroxytephrosin
Synonyms:
  • 3H-Bis(1)benzopyrano(3,4-b:6',5'-e)pyran-7(7aH)-one, 13,13a-dihydro-6,7a-dihydroxy-9,10-dimethoxy-3,3-dimethyl-, (7aR-cis)-
Description:

11-Hydroxytephrosin is a benzoate derivative that has been found to be an effective inhibitor of NF-κB target genes. It also inhibits the production of inflammatory cytokines such as IL-6 and TNF-α in vitro, which may be due to its ability to suppress activation of the nuclear transcription factor NF-κB. 11-Hydroxytephrosin also has antibacterial activity against Gram positive and Gram negative bacteria, including methicillin resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA) and vancomycin resistant Enterococcus faecium. 11-Hydroxytephrosin was shown to have significant anti-inflammatory activity and demonstrated anticancer properties in vitro.
