6,3'-Diprenylgenistein is a chemical compound that has biological properties. It has been shown to inhibit the proliferation of human leukemic HL-60 cells in vitro at concentrations between 0.05 and 10 μM. The optimum concentration for the inhibition of HL-60 cells was found to be 1 μM. 6,3'-Diprenylgenistein also showed an anti-hypoglycemic effect and inhibited mcf-7 cell proliferation in vitro. This compound also caused luteone production from linoleic acid, which may be due to its ability to induce apoptotic effects on liver cells and tumor cells. Furthermore, 6,3'-diprenylgenistein had pro-inflammatory cytokine activity, which may contribute to its anti-cancer effect.
