Product Information
- 7-Hydroxy-3-(6-hydroxy-1,3-benzodioxol-5-yl)-4H-1-benzopyran-4-oneDemethylcuneatin
7,2'-Dihydroxy-4',5'-methylenedioxyisoflavone is a flavonoid that is metabolized to pseudobaptigenin. It has been shown to be a probe for hydroxylase activity in rat liver microsomes and to induce responsiveness in tissues. 7,2'-Dihydroxy-4',5'-methylenedioxyisoflavone is also a potent inhibitor of the cytochrome P450 enzyme. 7,2'-Dihydroxy-4',5'-methylenedioxyisoflavone inhibits the activity of cytochrome P450 enzymes by binding covalently to specific cysteine residues in the active site. This binding prevents the oxidation of benzodioxoles and other substrates, which are normally activated by cytochrome P450 enzymes.
