Dehydromillettone is a millettosin, an isoflavonoid that belongs to the group of coumaronochromones. It has been shown to have antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties. Dehydromillettone has been found to be effective in the treatment of various diseases such as erythrina, erythynone, and hydroxyl group. The biosynthesis of dehydromillettone starts with formation of lisetin from phenylalanine by phenylalanine ammonia lyase (PAL). Sumatrol is then formed from lisetin by sumatranol synthase (SUS).
