Product Information

Name:
2,3-Dihydrohinokiflavone
Synonyms:
  • (2S)-2-[4-[[5,7-Dihydroxy-2-(4-hydroxyphenyl)-4-oxo-4H-1-benzopyran-6-yl]oxy]phenyl]-2,3-dihydro-5,7-dihydroxy-4H-1-benzopyran-4-one
Description:

2,3-Dihydrohinokiflavone is a naturally occurring flavonoid found in the genus Acacia. It has been shown to be cytotoxic against human cervical carcinoma cells and leishmania. The mechanism of action for this compound involves its ability to inhibit proteolytic activity by inhibiting collagenase and elastase, which are enzymes that break down collagen and elastin, respectively. This inhibition leads to a decrease in mitochondrial membrane potential and significant cytotoxicity in vitro. 2,3-Dihydrohinokiflavone also has anti-tumor effects against colorectal carcinoma cells by inducing apoptosis through the DNA fragmentation pathway.
