Product Information
6,8-Diprenylgenistein is a hydroxy flavonoid that has been shown to inhibit the activity of various enzymes. It is used as a model system for studying hypertension and other metabolic disorders. It has also been shown to have an inhibitory effect on amp-activated protein kinase and acetate extract from Euchresta japonica. This extract was found to be effective in suppressing cancer cell growth in vitro and in vivo. 6,8-Diprenylgenistein inhibits the expression of the gene encoding penicillin-binding protein (PBP), which may be responsible for its antihypertensive effect. This compound also has an antiproliferative effect on human mammary epithelial cells (McF-7) and mouse epididymal adipose tissue due to inhibition of histone deacetylases (HDACs).
