4-(Difluoromethoxy)-2-nitroaniline is a chemical compound that is soluble in sodium hydroxide solution. It is used in industrial applications as a catalyst and transfer agent. 4-(Difluoromethoxy)-2-nitroaniline has been shown to be an efficient phase transfer catalyst, with the optimal reaction temperature being at around 20 degrees Celsius. 4-(Difluoromethoxy)-2-nitroaniline also acts as a good solvent for aminophenols, which are impurities of pantoprazole. It has been shown to act as a good substrate for the synthesis of pantoprazole, with no observed side reactions or decomposition products.
