Product Information

Name:
NOX Inhibitor III, VAS2870
Description:

Nox Inhibitor III, VAS2870 is an endothelium-derived vasodilator that has been shown to improve the function of the endothelial barrier. It also inhibits the efflux of nitric oxide (NO) from cells and increases NO production in activated macrophages. This drug has been shown to improve vascular function and inhibit the development of atherosclerosis in db/db mice. Nox Inhibitor III, VAS2870 is a potent inhibitor of the enzyme NADPH oxidase, which produces reactive oxygen species (ROS). Nox Inhibitor III, VAS2870 prevents ROS-induced vascular dysfunction by reducing oxidative stress. The expression of this drug is limited to endothelial cells and it does not appear to be expressed in other tissues or organs.
