(S)-Ethyl 3-(Boc-amino)-2,2-difluoro-5-phenylpentanoate is a chiral compound that is reactive and has been shown to be mitochondrial membrane specific. (S)-Ethyl 3-(Boc-amino)-2,2-difluoro-5-phenylpentanoate inhibits the oxidative injury of cells by preventing depletion of the mitochondrial membrane potential.
