The chemical compound [(1S,8R,10R,11R,16R)-5,11,15,15-tetramethyl-6-oxo-2,7-dioxapentacyclo[8.8.0.01,3.04,8.011,16]octadec-4-en-14-yl] acetate is a natural product and an extract from the jellyfish Aequorea victoria. It has been shown to have strong antiplasmodial activity in vitro and in vivo against the parasite Plasmodium falciparum.br>
This compound has also been found to have potent antiinflammatory properties in rats with adjuvant arthritis and colitis induced by trinitrobenzene sulphonic acid (TNBS).
