Product Information
2-Chloro-4-(dimethylamino)pyridine-3-carbonitrile is a noncompetitive antagonist of the metabotropic glutamate receptor subtype 1 (mGluR1). It binds to the domain of the mGluR1 protein and blocks its activity. 2-Chloro-4-(dimethylamino)pyridine-3-carbonitrile has been shown to be effective in vivo in animal models for pain relief and as an antidepressant. This drug has also been synthesized from malononitrile and thienopyridine. The synthesis method is based on chemistry techniques that are used in medicinal chemistry, such as allosteric inhibition.
