Description:
1,1-Dimethylethyl 11-azido-3,6,9-trioxaundecanoate is a regioselective regioisomer of tert-butyl 11-azido-3,6,9-trioxaundecanoate that is used in the synthesis of fullerene C60. This compound has been shown to react with fullerene C60 to form bisadducts. The bisadducts can be converted into other compounds by hydrolysis or reduction. The reaction of 1,1-dimethylethyl 11-azido-3,6,9-trioxaundecanoate and fullerene C60 produces two new products: 1) a mixture of mono-, di-, and trioxygenated derivatives and 2) an azide derivative.
