(3-(Hydroxymethyl)thiophen-2-yl)boronic acid is a boronic acid that is used in cross-coupling reactions. It is used as an inhibitor of the thiophene modification. This chemical has been shown to react with a wide range of nucleophiles, including alcohols, amines, and phenols. (3-(Hydroxymethyl)thiophen-2-yl)boronic acid also has been shown to catalyze sequential cross-coupling reactions on solid phase.
