((R)-1-((2S,3R)-3-Hydroxy-2-(6-phenylpicolinamido)butanamido)-3-methylbutyl)boronic acid is a cyclic peptide that has been shown to have pro-apoptotic properties. It is also a chemical biology tool that can be used to study the proteasome and microenvironment of tumours. The most potent inhibitor binding site for ((R)-1-((2S,3R)-3-Hydroxy-2-(6-phenylpicolinamido)butanamido)-3-methylbutyl)boronic acid is found on the Proteasome β5 subunit. This drug also has an autoimmune disease inhibitory effect by inhibiting transfer reactions and preventing the production of inflammatory cytokines such as IL1β and TNFα.
