Kaempferol-3-rutinoside-7-rhamnoside is a flavonoid that is found in the plant Bauhinia. It has been shown to have antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties, which may be due to its ability to inhibit the activity of prostaglandin synthase. This compound also inhibits the activity of cyclooxygenase, an enzyme involved in prostaglandin synthesis. In addition, kaempferol can inhibit the production of nitric oxide by inhibiting inducible nitric oxide synthase (iNOS) and cyclooxygenase (COX). Kaempferol-3-rutinoside-7-rhamnoside also has antibacterial effects against methicillin resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA) and Mycobacterium tuberculosis.
